Panama City, Fla. – The City of Panama City reports a release of approximately 1500 gallons of raw sewage from a lift station at 1215 Palo Alto Avenue North due to a power outage. The sewage entered a storm drain which empties into Watson Bayou.
Sewage contamination of water can expose bathers to intestinal viruses, bacteria, and parasites.
The Florida Department of Health in Bay County advises against swimming in Watson Bayou between 10th Street and Business Highway 98 until further notice.
